FRC Robot Fabrication
Led the fabrication team for FRC Team 2976 Spartabots, taking custom competition robot parts from CAD models to CNC-machined components.
- Organization
- FRC Team 2976, Spartabots
- Role
- Fabrication Lead
- Period
- Aug 2023 – Jun 2024
- Location
- Sammamish, WA
- Note
- Fabrication Lead — team of 10
A What I did
- 01Guided a team of 10 members through detailed robotics fabrication tasks, ensuring all parts met strict specifications under competition deadlines
- 02Designed and generated CAD models, translating design concepts into machine-operable instructions
- 03Designed and contributed to the full CAD model of the competition robot in Onshape, focused on creating a functional, manufacturable system integrating mechanical, structural, and game-specific mechanisms
- 04The robot's design included a multi-jointed arm system for object manipulation, the drivetrain layout, and component placement optimized for balance, strength, and efficiency
- 05Iterated on designs with teammates, ensured compatibility between subsystems, and translated concepts into precise, build-ready models
- 06Operated CNC machinery and oversaw the transformation of raw materials into precise components
- 07Managed workflow and quality assurance processes while promoting strong communication throughout the team
- 08Troubleshot fabrication challenges in real time, minimizing delays and maintaining productivity
